"This was the second year that we stayed at the Tradewinds Resort and hopefully we can go again every year. The most important thing to us when we are staying somewhere is the cleanliness of it. Our unit was immaculate and kept that way with the every day housekeeping. The pool was kept the same way and was nice and warm. Even though you have to walk across the street to get to the beach, it is not a problem. They provide you with beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and even toys for the kids to use at the beach and in the pool. The kitchen is stocked with the bare necessities but they were sufficient for us as we ate most of our [meals] there. The staff in the office was very, very helpful when we had any questions. "My daughter and I just returned from a great stay at Tradewinds Resort on Anna Maria Island. Not only did we love the area, we loved the fact that we had made a great choice with selecting Tradewinds. The place looks exactly as it does in photos - the condo was clean and there was nothing lacking. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all phone calls within the U.S. are free! The beach was beautiful as well (the walk to it was very short). The pool was very clean and the grounds were immaculate. "We are getting married in April with a very intimate ceremony on the beach with our closest friends and relatives. We decided upon The Tortuga Inn for our stay during the wedding and to have a dinner party afterwards, as they have complete villas with kitchens and even some with private pools. We stayed overnight this past December when we went back to the Island to do planning for April. Although we only stayed in a regular room, and not one of the villas we have reserved for the wedding, we were amazed at how nice The Tortuga Inn really is. It is everything the pictures show and more! We are so excited to have discovered this hidden gem on the island and that we will be sharing this hotel with our closest friends and families. We are from NYC, and we have stayed in very nice hotels, and although I could say that most coastal beach towns in Florida don't have the best hotels, The Tortuga is a clear indication that they DO exist out there if you are willing to dig a little to find them. This is a much nicer experience than the Ritz in Sarasota. The cleanliness, size of the rooms/villas, the lush grounds and having both the bay and the beach right there is simply amazing. The staff was more than helpful and polite. We can now only hope that after staying at the Tortuga, that our cruise will live up to our 3 days before the wedding!
